Grundig
Nuremberg, Germany

Grundig is a consumer electronics and appliance manufacturer with a wide range of products. I provided workflows for rendering these products in high volume. Lightning was not always easy. In traditional studio photography, you can design your light stage to accentuate certain design elements of the product, but in our case it was necessary for the products to look great at all angles. This was often achieved with custom HDR images for soft lighting and aesthetic reflections, as well as a few tricks that are not possible in the real world.

In addition to studio style product visualization, Grundig also provided more creative opportunities. The following animation promoting a waterproof MP3 player involved just about every trick in the book. From matte painting, to wave turbulence animation, light caustics on the sea floor, dynamic wire animations, and particle simulations. I’m really pleased with how all the different elements came together. Be sure to check out the breakdown so you can see how it was made!
